“You lose balance, you lose power.” a quote from Eat Pray Love. Achieving balance is a struggle for myself and many women because of the boundaries we believe we are limited by. It is not always easy to hear criticism or alternatives to the way we do things, when we believe we are doing the best we can. Balance requires work. Balance requires making choices that are not always easy. Balance requires moderation in every aspect of our life. “Be moderate in order to taste the joys of life in abundance.” Epicurus. It is not only time management. It is your mind, body, and spirit; it is family, friends and community, work, talents, and ambitions. Not every woman is so busy. Some women are having a hard time balancing a new role, such as retirement, empty nest, or new surroundings. The Your Turn Gatherings for the month of May will focus on achieving balance. This is a workshop with techniques to help become aware of where your energy is overflowing or being depleted. We will also learn a few exercises to maintain or improve our physical ability to balance. Whether you are having a hard time finding a minute of your day to relax or you have the whole day and don’t know what to do with it, join us. As with all of our gatherings it is an opportunity to speak freely, laugh out loud, and enjoy an hour of the day.
