Good morning ladies,
There is a stupid, horrible saying “Darkest before the dawn” that I wish were not a reality. It’s a saying that positive people use when dealing with negative people who are bitching about their lives. It’s meant to help cheer them up, I get that, but really….sometimes one just wants to wallow in self-pity.
There is also a saying of “Hang in there, it just takes time” that we say to others or hear when we are complaining that what we are doing “isn’t working” which basically means, I’m not seeing the results yet. Especially when you are trying to lose weight, right, when you are cutting your calories, moving your body, trying to stay positive about how great you are going to look when you fit into those pants you have hanging on the bedroom wall. You’ve been at it for 4 weeks and this morning you tried those pants on and they still don’t fit!!! ARGHHHH!!! God, just fit already. I’ve been at this for so long you’d think it would have worked by now and when you mention this to your co-worker and they give you that stupid song and dance of “hang in there, it just takes time” and you want to stab them in their eye!
Here’s the shit of it ladies, hang in there, it just takes time. Don’t quit what you are doing. Don’t give in to the F*** It machine and eat a bag of left over candy bars from Halloween. I know you want to, I get it, it totally sucks when you are doing everything “RIGHT” and it doesn’t seem to be working but hear this…..this comes from my husband when I complain about exactly this issue, “Your body is getting rid of the most important fat first, the fat around your organs, that’s the shit you can’t see but it is harming you from the inside. Getting rid of that fat first is most important, not the dimples on your ass”.
That’s the kind of love it get, the kind of sympathetic ear that reminds me that we can’t always see the greatness that is happening. Sometimes we just have to have faith that what we are doing is correct, proper and right.
Let me be the reminder in your ear this morning that you are doing it right. Cutting back on what you eat, if that was your issue. Moving your body with effort on a regular basis and knowing the size you are moving toward and lest I forget, decreasing the stress in your life is a big factor in weight loss. You are on the right path, it will work, keep it up, don’t give up, don’t give in…..you’ve got this.
